This is a Traditional pattern for Atlantic Salmon. It is thought that the originator (John Wright), used hair from a Golden retriever, hence the alternative name of Yellow Dog or Garry Dog. This version uses similar colours as in the traditional pattern for the Salmon fly except for a Jungle Cock feather along the body. Each fly is finished with three applications of varnish (2x clear and 1x black) as for traditional Salmon flies. This pattern may have been one of the earliest, and uses yellow and red hair that is good for Salmon in coloured water.
It is also a good pattern as a fashion brooch, especially with the JC wing that adds to its attractiveness.
This brooch makes an ideal present, especially for Easter, Mother's Day or a Birthday. It can be used as a fashion brooch, a tie-pin, scarf pin or pinned onto a hat.
The price (£9.00) includes 1st class postage, so please do not add extra £1.
