Bloodworm are the larval stage of the Chironomid spp. (Buzzer) and live in the mud and detritus at the bottom of the lake bed, or slow river bed. They swim with an undulating motion, which is difficult to copy, so the marabou tail is added to simulate this action.
The sets comprise 4x flies. All are tied on Kamasan size 12 hooks. All flies have a red spanflex body and marabou tail.
Set 1 (2xgold bead; 2x non-bead)
Two flies are tied with a feather fibre at the head - they are unweighted
Two flies have a gold bead at the head - weighted
The flies can be used with a floating line and longish (~9') leader (dependant upon depth of water), or with an intermediate or sinking line. The weighted flies will sink faster than the unweighted ones.
The set is contained in a transparent lidded box that could be used as a flybox.
