Bloodworm are the larval stage of the Chironomid spp. (Buzzer) and live in the mud and detritus at the bottom of the lake bed, or slow river bed. They swim with an undulating motion, which is difficult to copy, so the marabou tail is added to simulate this action.
The sets comprise 4x flies. All are tied on Kamasan size 12 hooks. All flies have a red spanflex body and marabou tail.
Set 2 (4x Glass bead)
Two flies are are tied with a single glass bead at the head and red marabou tail
Two flies are tied with two pink glass beads at the head and pink marabou tail
All are slightly weighted, so can be used with a floating line and longish (~9') leader (dependant upon depth of water), or with an intermediate or sinking line.
They are contained in a transparent lidded box that could be used as a flybox.
