This is a set of the popular 2014 version. Two have a pearl mylar body tied on 2X longshank hooks. Two have a silver mylar body tied on 3X longshank hooks. All have a multi-coloured marabou tail (white, orange and olive) with a red hackle under the hook shank resembling the gills of a fry.
All the flies have large eyes at the front that help to create a wake in the water when retrieved and attract fish to home in on them. The eyes and head have been coated with UV-activated resin. These flies are designed for fry attacking Trout, but I have caught Perch and (small) Pike on them, so are successful for predatory fish.
The flies have been tied by me on longshank size 8 Quality Partridge hooks. The pattern has been designed by me and part of the dressing is unique to Challenge Flies.
